The Fitness Center will be closed tomorrow due to inclement weather.
Due to the inclement weather, there will be no face to face instruction Wednesday, and we will be virtual grades 2-12.
The Girls' Regional Basketball game for tonight against Alma Center has been pushed up a half hour. The game will start at 5:00 PM.
Next Tuesday the boys basketball team will be hosting a first round regional game against Gilmanton. We are hoping to fill our gym with as many Rocket fans as possible. To help make this happen, we are hoping to find area businesses or individuals willing to help out students with the ticket cost. Tickets are $6 so a $100 donation would let 16 students in for free. Any donations should be made to the HS office. Please contact Coach Pfaff at j.pfaff@nlsd.k12.wi.us or at 608-548-8888 if you have questions or are interested. Thank you.

On Monday, February 20th, 35 New Lisbon Students in Mr. Morey's Welding courses got the opportunity to learn more about the Wabash Company. Students learned about what Wabash Manufactures, what they look for in a model employee, skills needed to be successful in the workplace, as well as the starting wage and benefits that Wabash provides for their employees. Students got to see samples of Tig welds as well as learn about Wabash's new training center. Special thanks to Mike, Mitchell, Bobby, and Christine for taking time out of their day to help expose New Lisbon Students to a local, high demand and high skilled career.

Additional congratulations to Heidi Mathes who qualified for state on her 2nd to last lift of the day. She will be joining Greta Anderson at the state meet on 4-5th.
Thank you to all the students who showed up with the battle battalion to cheer on our lifters. No doubt your energy motivated our lifters to perform their very best.

Additionally, the varicella immunization has changed to the following:
Varicella
Starting with the 2023/24 school year and moving forward in subsequent years, any new enterer in early childhood, 4K, or students K-12 who are claiming an exception to the varicella vaccination requirement because they had chickenpox disease will need to meet the verification requirement of such disease. This verification must be provided by a qualified health care provider (M.D., D.O., N.P, or P.A.). New enterer means any student enrolling in a Wisconsin school for the first time. This typically means all kindergarten students and students transferring from an out of state (non-Wisconsin) school.
Students currently enrolled during the 2022/23 school year who have parental report of chickenpox disease are not required to submit verification of such disease by a qualified health care provider. Schools are not required to ask families to resubmit forms claiming exemption from the varicella requirement unless the status of the student changes such as they move out of state and then re-enroll. Simply stated students currently with parental report of disease or a signed waiver of the varicella requirement do not need to submit new forms.
There are changes that will take place for the upcoming school year for students regarding immunization requirements per state of Wisconsin. Changes are regarding students in 7th and 12th grades. Meningococcal vaccination is now required for students in these grades; a waiver will be required to have on file for students who will not be vaccinated due to health, religious, or personal reasons.
The school nurse will be identifying students who have not received these immunizations and reaching out to parents this spring. An additional change is that the Tdap booster (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) boosters are now required for the 7th grade (had previously been 6th grade) I have summarized the changes in a word document attached here.
If parents have any questions, they are always welcome to reach out to me.
Thank you!
