How to Build a Salad That Doesn't Get Soggy
The number one complaint about pre-made salads is the dreaded "soggy lettuce." Here is the secret to keeping them crisp for 3-5 days: Layering.
Bottom Layer (The "Wet" Layer): Dressing goes first. Then, add hard, non-absorbent vegetables like cucumbers, carrots, and chickpeas.
Middle Layer (The Proteins/Grains): Add your quinoa, chicken, tofu, or black beans.
Top Layer (The "Dry" Layer): Leafy greens (romaine, kale, or cabbage work best) should go at the very top.
Pro Tip: Pack nuts, seeds, or croutons separately and add them right before eating.
