Wisconsin School Performance Report
The Wisconsin School Performance Report (SPR) was created in 1991 with the passage of State Statute 115.38. It serves as the state's annual public school report card, and represents the Department of Public Instruction's most comprehensive resource for data on school performance and student achievement. The DPI compiles information about student achievement from a variety of sources, including the individual school district, private firms that administer standardized tests to Wisconsin students, and from other DPI data collections. Over the years, the data collection methods have changed with the changes in technology. Currently all of the data is collected via electronic methods.
Additional information has been added to the Wisconsin School District Performance Report (SDPR), the on-line report published by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI). This new version of the SDPR contains not only district but school information for each district. Districts are required by the School Performance Report statute to publish data on their schools and enable a comparison of data across school districts in the same athletic conference.
