Junior High School

The Junior High School years are a wonderful time full of new activities, new friends, and a variety of teachers to see each day. It can also be a challenging time as the Junior High students try to keep up with schoolwork while dealing with all of the physical, emotional, and social changes that are taking place.

The faculty and staff of New Lisbon Junior High School are an experienced and diverse group who work to meet the needs of these changing young adolescents. A considerable amount of time and money has been spent to ensure that our students are provided with an opportunity to receive a quality education in a safe and modern facility.

We follow the lessons learned through

Quiz Bowl Team Competes

Tuesday, February 7 six New Lisbon students traveled to Tomah to attend the 7th Grade Quiz Bowl competition held by the Mississippi Valley Gifted and Talented Organization. Michael Georgeson, Riley Nelson, Cole Haschke, Jacob Helbing, Brittany Steele, and Sabrina Olson did well in representing our school district.  The Quiz Bowl is an annual event where area schools compete in four rotations of questions in the core subject areas of math, the sciences, literature, language arts, the history and geography, as well as, entertainment, sports, and current events.  The top three teams advance to the final round.  This year our students didn't rank in the top three, with Bangor coming out the winner.  The team said it was a great opportunity to try something new and different while learning and having fun with their peers.  So, we'd like to recognize and congratulate the 7th grader team for their academic excellence.

Modern Woodmen Speech Contest

Three students represented New Lisbon at the Level 2 Modern Woodmen Speech Contest at Tomah, WI, on March 20th.  One additional student attended as an alternate.  While there, the students were able to witness student speeches from five other neighboring schools, including Wonewoc, Necedah, Elroy, Sparta, and Tomah.  One New Lisbon student will advance to the Level 3 Contest.
