Thoughts From The Superintendent May - 2012
There are a lot of fun events to finish the year at every school district in Wisconsin. New Lisbon is no exception. May 17th is our K-12 service learning day where students spend the afternoon doing community based projects. That night is also the grade 9-12 awards night beginning at 7:30. The elementary student of the month banquet is May 21st at 6:00. May 22nd is the academic achievement/scholarship night. Graduation is scheduled for June 1st at 8:00. Summer school will start right away on Monday June 4th.
Here are some of the great things going on this past month:

Hillsboro, LaFarge, New Lisbon, Tomah, Viroqua, and Brookwood sent a total of twelve teams of three readers who had read the 50 books specified for the contest. The purpose of the contest is to encourage students to read widely, to expand their vocabularies, to improve comprehension, and to promote a lifelong love for reading. The teams started reading in September and compete in early spring. Questions are based on recalling details, author and title of the books. Students from our district were Ethan Henzel, Billy Macomber and Margo Weiland. Our team placed 3rd out of the 12 teams.
