About me

I grew up on a small farm in southern Wisconsin, about half an hour from Madison, with lots of brothers and sisters. I hold the following degrees:  a Bachelor of Science in Spanish Education, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology Education and a Masters of Education - Professional Development.  I started teaching in New Lisbon in 1997.  I am the Spanish Club advisor and one of the Senior class advisors.  I think that a small town, rural area is a great place to raise a family and love the great education that my own children are getting in this school district.

I think that exposing people to other languages and cultures is a valuable learning experience.  I teach Spanish, but I don't think it matters what other language you learn.  Learning 'how' to learn another language is what is really valuable.  Once you learn the basics of how languages work, it makes learning them much easier.  Also, I believe it is important for students to learn about other countries and cultures of the world.  It is an important life skill for them to realize that just because other countries/people/cultures are different than here, doesn't make them weird;  they are just different.

I enjoy getting to know students and will gladly help their learning in any way I am able.
