The objectives in 7th Grade Literature (reading) are to

             create PROFICIENT  READERS through the use of the

             following skills:

                              -  ask about content, concepts, and outcomes

                              -  draw conclusions, predict outcome  and / or events

                              -  Text to self

                              -  Text to Text

                        •  Determine What is Important

                              -  weigh the evidence

                              -  set priorities

                        •  Use Visualization

                              -  create pictures in their mind

                               -  use other senses when processing text, smell, touch, hearing . . .

                       •  Monitor & Repair Comprehension Throughout Their Reading

                               -   check and recheck predicitons, answers for meaning

                               -  stop and reread for clarification

                               -  read on to construct meaning

                               -  examine evidence

                       •  Synthesize Information During & After Reading

                               -  use parts to see the whole
