Course Description: This course is designed to help students make educated decisions regarding food, family, and finances.  In this hands-on course, students will examine contemporary attitudes towards food, changing consumption patterns, and the roles that food plays in our lives.  The food portion of the course promotes healthy food choices, wise consumer decisions, and a wide variety of skills for meal preparation for individual and family needs.  During the family unit, students will research their heritage and family history, and look at current family issues.  We will take an in depth look at finances and consumer issues as we discuss earning, spending, managing, saving, and investing money.
