The third grade is working on a skit/musical called VACATION ON MARS.  It teaches the Solar System by telling a story of a family trying to take a vacation on Mars and getting lost in the process.  We all know our solar system spins, but in VACATION ON MARS it also sings and dances! The sun is used to being the center of attention, but now even the planets get to be the stars. OH, and do they have an attitude! Jupiter boasts of his sixteen moons, Saturn polishes his rings, and Venus thinks she so hot (900 degrees!). So cinch up your asteroid belt and come along!

We will be presenting it at the PTC meeting of New Lisbon on March 28th 2011 at 6pm in the IMC.  The skit should last about 30 to 40 minutes long followed by the PTC meeting.  Please mark your calendars to take a trip through our Solar System with the third grade students.

UPDATE!!!

With 22 third graders and two stuffed dogs, we performed VACATION ON MARS successfully at the PTC meeting of New Lisbon on March 28th 2011 at 5pm in the IMC. Please check the PHOTOS section to the left to see pictures from the musical performance.
