New Lisbon FBLA Officer Roles and Duties

Roles of FBLA Officers

The following roles and responsibilities will be expected to be completed by each of the mentioned officers for the New Lisbon chapter of FBLA.
 
President:
Presides over and conducts meetings.
Keeps members and discussion on track.
Coordinates chapter activities by keeping in close touch with the other officers, the membership, and the adviser.
Calls special meetings as needed.
Serves as an ambassador in the community, region and state, on behalf of our local chapter.
Types the agendas needed for the monthly meetings.
Is responsible for the completion of the chapter Business Achievement awards.
Is required to have held an office prior to becoming president.
Must have attended at least one state competition.
Must have competed at regionals. Must show responsibility and leadership skills.
Cannot be president of any other organization.
Must have a class or scheduled time to check in with Mrs. Schroeder daily.
Is required to be a Business Achievement award Member.
 
Vice President:
Assists the president in the discharge of duties.
Presides at meetings in the absence of the president.
Is prepared to assume the duties and responsibilities of the president should the need arise.
Is responsible for the membership attendance system - computerized.
Is responsible for keeping the local chapter BA2 up to date.
Prepares and reads the minutes of meetings.
Counts and records votes when taken.
Is responsible for the completion of the annual business report.
Reads the thank you’s, correspondences, etc. at the meetings.
 
Treasurer:
Receives and acts as custodian of chapter funds.
Collects all state and national dues and is responsible for their disbursement by the appropriate deadlines.
Keeps financial records neat and current.
Handles the chapter’s accounts receivable and accounts payable after received from the advisor.
Encourages efficient money management.
 
Reporter/Historian:
Prepares news releases and articles for publication in school (Perspective) and local newspapers, submitting them publication quarterly (four times a year.)
Prepares and collects news and feature stories of the chapter's activities for the state newsletter and for national publications.
Reads newspaper clippings regarding FBLA matters at monthly meetings.
Makes sure that relevant information makes the announcements and bulletin board.
Gathers and classifies chapter news.
Collects news and feature stories of the chapter’s activities from the state newsletter and national publications.
Maintains a history of the chapter, including a scrapbook of chapter activities, awards, and publicity.
Files clippings and pictures of the chapter’s activities.
Is responsible for the saving of pictures to CD.
Responsible for getting and giving pictures to/from Yearbook.
Makes sure the camera attends all events.
 
All officers:
Have a meeting Tuesday morning at 7:30 prior to the monthly meeting to organize topics to discuss at the meetings.
Preparing an agenda for the monthly meeting at the above mentioned meeting.
Is responsible for organization of fundraisers and fundraising materials.
Is required to attend all FBLA activities throughout the year.
