Classes offered:
Integrated Science A: A required class for freshmen at New Lisbon. This is the first part of a two part course of study that covers both physical and life sciences. Topics covered in this class include lab safety, the effects of science and technology on life, data collection and analysis, classification systems, atomic structure, chemical bonding, chemical reactions, and the cell. This class must be successfully completed in order for students to continue with further science classes.
Integrated Science B
This course is required of all sophomores and will focus on the interrelationships between Physics and Biology. Topics of study will include motion, forces, work, and machines and their relationship to the human body; energy and metabolism; gravitation; genetics and evolution; and zoology (the study of animals). This class will also incorporate a research component to lab work to further increase student understanding of the nature of science.(offered 2010-11)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Integrated Science A
